Emtec Building Services were appointed as the main M&E contractor, responsible for the full design and build delivery of mechanical and electrical works for a brand-new five-storey development comprising 98 modern studio apartments in Dundee.

The development occupies a siteformerly used as a hessian fabric factory, located between Douglas Street and Brown Street in the city centre, which had been vacant for several years.

Emtec’s team delivered a comprehensive M&E package, including heating, ventilation, electrical distribution, lighting, plumbing, fire detection and building management systems, ensuring modern, efficient and fully compliant building services throughout the residential units.

The project demonstrates Emtec’s expertise in urban residential redevelopment, combining design and build capabilities with careful coordination, ensuring high-quality, energy-efficient and fully operational studio apartments for city-centre student living.
